STEADI (Stopping Elderly Accidents, Deaths, and Injuries) Tool Kit for health care providers

We are pleased to announce that the STEADI (Stopping Elderly Accidents, Deaths, and Injuries) Tool Kit for health care providers is now available online at: http://www.cdc.gov/injury/steadi.

The STEADI Tool Kit was created for health care providers who treat older adults who are at risk of falling or who may have fallen in the past. This tool kit gives providers the information and tools they need to assess and address their older patients’ fall risk.

Contents of the tool kit include basic information about falls, case studies, conversation starters, and standardized gait and balance assessment tests. A self-risk assessment tool and educational materials for patients and their friends and family are included as well. All materials are available online for download and printing. A limited number of tool kits are available and may be ordered directly through the website today.
