Who Am I To Stop It?

Cheryl Green, a media artist with TBI, is collaborating with independent filmmaker, Cynthia Lopez on, “Who Am I To Stop It,” a new documentary film about isolation, art, and transformation after brain injury. It features three TBI survivors who are all artists. While rehabilitation and medical care are crucial to a positive recovery, we believe that openly discussing isolation and stigma is also needed. Too many survivors feel alone and misunderstood. We feel that this documentary, which shows our featured artists as people with agency, drive, and creativity, will help fill the gap in public understanding of brain injury survivors.

We completed filming in September, 2014 in Portland, OR and Tacoma and Olympia, WA and completed two very successful online fundraising campaigns in 2012 and 2014.

Our intention is to use the film to engage in public dialogue about brain injury and community inclusion.
